A Strong Start to the Winter Season
The last two months have been an exceptional period for the Luxembourg Sharks Swimming Club. From international championships to national competitions and development programs for our youngest swimmers, the club continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence, progression, and the development of swimmers at every level.

European Short Course Championships
Lublin, Poland – 2–7 December 2025
Luxembourg Sharks swimmer Lou Jominet proudly represented the club at the European Short Course Championships, delivering outstanding performances on the international stage.
Her achievements included:

New Luxembourg National Record in the 1500m Freestyle
Lou’s performance confirms her continuous progression and establishes her as one of the club’s strongest international-level swimmers.

Journée de l’Amitié
Pétange – 11 January 2026
A fantastic day for our youngest Sharks swimmers, with 80 participants from the Jeunes, Pupilles and Poussins groups.

🏊 Training Camps and Development Activities
European Championships Preparation Camp
Soma Bay, Egypt – 3–13 January 2026
As part of the preparation project for the 2026 European Championships in Paris, a high-performance training camp was organized under the leadership of coach Jabrane Touili.

This intensive camp focused on strengthening performance and preparing the athletes for upcoming international qualification opportunities.
Demonstration Day – Development Groups
Belair – 25 January 2026
A major milestone for our development program:
92 young swimmers present
Swimmers from Level 3 and Level 4 groups were evaluated through technical exercises adapted to their age and level.
Key observations:
Strong overall technical level
Good coordination across the groups
Main improvement area: head position during freestyle
A particularly exciting sign for the future:
Several 6-year-old swimmers are already able to swim a full 25m butterfly — an exceptional achievement at that age.
For the next Demonstration Day in June, the club plans to make the event even more festive with music, a DJ, a speaker explaining the activities, and perhaps even a Sharks mascot to create a real celebration for the swimmers and their families.
🏆 Euro Meet 2026

The prestigious Euro Meet once again brought international swimming to Luxembourg.

Lou Jominet recorded an excellent 4:23.36 in the 400m Freestyle, moving closer to the qualification time for the European Championships.
Bridget Sullivan also continues to approach the European qualification standards.
Julien Henx delivered a strong 24.93 in the 50m Butterfly.
Alex Kidd improved his 100m Freestyle Personal Best to 55.56, now only 0.6 seconds away from the FLNS national performance standard.
Oscar Schons and Leni Leonard both demonstrated strong and steady progression.
Antonio Sabedotti made an encouraging first participation at this level.
📈 A Historic Milestone for the Club !!!
For the first time in the history of Luxembourg Sharks, four swimmers have already achieved the prestigious FLNS “Cadre A” national performance standards:

This represents a historic step forward for the club and confirms the strength of the Sharks development pathway from youth swimmers to international-level athletes.
