Naples – An unforgettable sporting and human experience was enjoyed by the 40 young athletes of the Luxembourg Sharks Swimming Club, who took part in a nine-day training camp in the vibrant city of Naples. From the youngest in the Poussin group, just 8 years old, to the club's Elite swimmers, the event offered a unique opportunity: training in the historic Felice Scandone swimming pool, one of the most iconic venues in Italian water polo and now an official training center for the Italian national team.

Led by head coach Jabrane Touili and his technical staff, the athletes underwent intense training sessions in a facility steeped in history and top-level sports. But the biggest surprise came when they discovered they were staying in the same hotel as the world champion Italian national water polo team. Not only did the swimmers get to meet the athletes, but they also spent free time with them and even had the chance to speak with the legendary head coach Sandro Campagna, one of the greatest coaches in the history of international water polo.

There were also plenty of opportunities to explore the city of Naples outside the pool. During their half-day rest, the club organized an excursion to Pompeii, allowing the young athletes to dive into the ancient history of the archaeological site, followed by an ice cream walk through the heart of the Neapolitan old town. But the surprises didn’t end there: thanks to the initiative of the club president, the swimmers attended the Napoli vs. Empoli football match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, a first-time experience in a Serie A stadium for many of them.

Another memorable evening was spent at the arena watching the Napoli vs. Varese Serie A basketball game, rounding out a full immersion in Italian sports culture.

The training camp was not only a moment of athletic growth, but also a real opportunity for cultural exchange, social bonding, and discovery. The Luxembourg Sharks returned home with unforgettable memories, renewed motivation, and a special connection to the city of Naples, which welcomed them with its legendary warmth and hospitality.

A training camp to remember, once again proving the power of combining sport, education, and passion.
